So it's been about five days since we got Thor and things are going somewhat smoothly. He's really sweet and rarely makes any sounds (which is almost dangerous when he sneaks off) and he's getting used to his name and the concept of going outside. The only real issue is that he has a tendency to want to chew on everything and nibbles when he's too riled up. We've managed to teach him to not bite too hard but it still happens. According to most websites Labrador puppies are some of the mouthiest puppies and that they grow out of nibbling. For the most part the drive to chew and bite everything makes sense, it's a breed that needs to be used to having things in their mouths. I don't hold the chewing and nibbling against him too much since he is a puppy. There's teething going on plus that natural desire to have things in his mouth. We're still being firm with him about trying to chew, especially when he keeps going to the same corner of the rug to chew on it, but it's less frustrating than if he was a different breed. If he was a different breed then I'd just be annoyed that we somehow got the mouthiest dog out of the litter (to be fair, I could tell his brothers would have been worse.) I figured I should update now that he's settled in a bit and the overwhelming joy of a puppy's died down a bit.
Also, sorry for not posting any art-related things. Right now Thor needs someone watching him at all times so he doesn’t eat something he’s not supposed to or have an accident, and with him and my schoolwork/chores it's kind of hard to find time and motivation to draw; however, I've got a Guardians of Ga'hoole scene I started to paint and I've been wanting to draw some background/concept stuff for that 'Abandoned Park Warriors' thing I made a journal about a week ago (I think it was a week.) I’ve also wanted to keep working on that Warriors fan-fic that I always talk about but never have the guts to show. To be fair, right now I’m re-writing the first couple chapters. A writing tip I saw was to completely re-write chapters so you’re not stuck on what you’ve already edited/done. So yeah, but once I’m done with that I’m going to post them regardless to how nervous the thought makes me. Is anyone actually reading this? Probably not. Whatever, man. Maybe just having these things said will motivate me to actually work on them. I need to stop writing, I’ve got an English thing to do and editing a journal is not it.
LOOK AT HIM! Look at my son!
He's a charcoal English lab (English labs are stockier than american versions) and we just got him today! In terms of name ideas we're thinking of calling him Thor since A.) he's kinda stormy in color, and B.) we think he's going to be a pretty big dog. We got to see his dad and he's pretty buff (his mom was pretty big too) and this pup's paws are pretty big and when a puppy's got big paws that means he's going to grow into them. He's so cute and is a complete cuddle bug! Look at the eyes! And the snoot! AND HE'S SO MELLOW I LOVE HIM AND IT'S JUST DAY 1! I'm sorry at this point I'm just gushing.
